Jonah and the whale
A strange journey to the depths of the sea
Because He refused to tell
How Nineveh could turn and be free

He fled to Joppa, a seaport town
found a ship sailin' down Tarshish way
Said "Lord, it takes a mighty man to stand
and I can't tell those Ninevites that you might blow them away"

Jonah and the whale
Somebody get me out of this jail
Lord, don't get up tight
It's so dark in here that I can't see the light

Before this nightmare, 'J' was doing ok
'till the sea began to roll
Captain said "feller you better take a dip."
That's when this big fish came along and swallowed him whole!

Gulp!

Jonah and the whale
Three days and nights alone in this cell
Lord, it don't seem right
It's so dark in here that I can't see the light

Now for our hero, things are gettin' cramped
So he cried out
Said "Lord, I've got a change of heart"
That's when the whale opened wide
And Spit Jonah out!

Jonah on the shore
He 'aint gonna run anymore
It's best to obey
Turn the people from their wicked ways

Jonah and the whale
Hoo-hoo
Jonah and the whale
Hoo-hoo
Jonah and the whale
Hoo-hoo-hooo

"Get me outa' here!"
