I guess I was living like an island
I hid my heart under the sea
Who can hurt you when you hide away?
Thought I'd never see the light of day
Then you told me it would be okay
Can I be certain?
No man is an island

I stood my ground taller than a building
I had my head up in the clouds
I was living under lock and key
Like a rock there was no bending me
Love's the power that's spending me
Felt the earthquake
I'm falling like a building

I was tied up, busy as a freeway
Wheels were spinning round, I was going nowhere
Bridges burning, overpass is down
No one to help me if I hit the ground
You're a highway heading out of town
Won't You take me there?

I guess I was living like an island
I stood my ground taller than a building
I was tied up, busy as a freeway
Then You rescued me
