  How Many Sold...

Okay this is gonna take an absolutly HARDCORE DA fan to answer , or for that matter someone from the band..

I'm curious to aprox..how many various DA were sold? I'm not talking All together. Take for example thier best selling LP? What type of numbers are we looking at? 500,000? 50,000? 5,000?
What about the worst?DA in my collection is probably 4th as far as quantity. First is probably Larry Norman. I would guess that I have close to 40 different discs or records of him.

Don't know the answer but my collection of CD's is probably miniscule compared to some others here....

I think I have 40 or 50 CD's related to DA, Dogs, 77's, The Choir etc.....

that question has been discussed before here and even partially answered, hopefully someone can help out. i'm sure 500,000 is way too high, sadly.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it's much more (if at all) than 10,000. Maybe Shotgun Angel is more if you count all the re-releases. The A bro's probably know or at least have an idea.

I have always heard the "Let's Spin", "Motorcyle" and as well as the first two DA records are really the only ones to make money...

It seems I heard the Eddies stuff sold something like just over 20,000 copies???

I don't know... but I would like to hear what folks have found out!

Posted by Mark on 06-28-2003 at12:51:

Yes, I've heard that Let's Spin was one of the bigger sellers.

I also heard that Horrendous Disc sold a whole lot.

Everyone was expecting shotgun angel two. Bet they were surprised Big Grin

  I get the idea

that a "good" turn around on any TST or DA CD has been somewhere between 20 and 30 thousand. I could be very wrong, but that stuck in my head for some reason. And, of course, we're talking immediate sales--as in immediately following the release vs. over the long term.

Posted by dorfsmith on 06-28-2003 at13:06:

30,000 is not too bad.
