  Any Significance?

For the last several weeks I've been sharing Terry's music with my carpoolers ( a captive audience). One of them asked me if there was any significance to the Lost Dogs name. Same question came up for Daniel Amos. I theorized about DA (the prophetic thing), but came up empty on LD.

Can anybody help?

  RE: Any Significance?

I thought it was because there was 4 guys from 4 different bands, therefore, "Lost Dogs." Is that not right?

I remember someone said there was a Neil Young late 80's connection with the name as well (I think). Here's a couple of things I turned up pretty quick.

Of course "lost dogs" sort of has its own meaning, as evidenced by at least several artists' release of CD's in somewhat recent memory containing "lost dogs" as part of the title. I think Pearl Jam may perhaps be the most famous band that did this.

1989:

* Inn at the Beginning (Neil w/the Lost Dogs)
* Restless (Neil solo)
* Scroungin' for Quality (Neil solo; Times Square sessions)
* Times Square (Neil w/the Lost Dogs; studio & SNL '89)

I remember reading an article where Mike Roe said they were lost dogs because lost dogs always find their way home. It might have been a joke Big Grin I think it was in the reality rock newsletter around the time Little Red Riding Hood came out.

besides the obvious "Prodigal Son" allegory..

I recall thinking when I saw the parodic "Poster" on the back of "Best of"
Where they say"Sorry, No reward"...

.....A Lost Dog is only important to those who love it..and thats even qualifed..

strangers could usually care less.
