ramblin on a Friday
When people say "been there-done that"- its usually in a negative sense, but I have actually have a short mental checklist of things I would like to do and see in my life- when I can, while I can.. (maybe I was inspired by "Some Friendly Advice")
But anyway- I have had the chance to overlook the Grand Canyon with my dear wife, and we were blessed to hear Dr Graham at a crusade, I HOPED to see DA last fall with Legends, (and have been honored to meet and see TST and shake his hand,)- Mike Roe is on my list - you know -those sort of things.
Well-one item is for me to see a Beatle perform live, and I have arrangements to do that later this month. It's one of the Biggies on my list. I read Paul's opening night review and song list yesterday, (not the song, dummy) and I got all goose bumps (that's me)…I'm so looking forward to HEARING it all.
Then as I drove into work this a.m. I had a tape with Edwin Hawkins singing "You gave Your All for Me" - and in the second verse he sings..
"You gave this earth for men to dwell
You gave Your all for me
You gave the Sun and moon-
the atmosphere-
Sweet words of music to hear"
That's all I could take. I was overcome, and started bawling in the car……slobbery and loud………all by myself.
Without His grace and giving mercy, the wonderful creation of a perfect combination of components to make sound travel….we wouldn't hear a thing. Every lovely note that Terry and the boys make, the beauty of the Moonlight Sonata, or to hear "It was 20 years ago today, Sgt Pepper taught the band to play"- When we can get a little glimpse of why such a Big guy cares about lil old crappy me (and you too)-it makes my checklist really only have one thing on it..

nice ramblings
Nice ramblings, bud. Had to read it to some of my classes today just to show them that "rose smelling" along the way--that whole approach to life--just gets more and more valuable as you go your way.
We're blessed--thankx!

Ahhhhhhhh
I luv you, bro.
That was very special...........and been there, done that
I believe I would die without music. I truly do.......sometimes, it's just what I need. And sometimes, it's all there is.

Who rambles? I don't know anyone here who rambles. Never heard anyone go on and on. People don't post nonsense here. Never seen it. It doesn't happen.

I agree... I have never rambled myself... I have never just posted nonsense... or randomly said, "Dr. Pepper is good" (which it is)... or something like that... rambling isn't good... but it can be addictive... once you start, it's hard to stop... kind of like drinking Dr. Pepper...

What a wretched turn this thread took. JC - i just read your post - just now on Monday at 2:17 - you're cool. I wish I thought like that more often.....it's the little things......meeting Jesus face to face and shaking his hand and hearing him laugh and finally knowing the truth.....makes the latest signed and #ed whatever seem not as important......(I still want 'em though)......
how was Jimmy T???? Was the concert last weekend????
