  afternoon mr chandler

good to see you sir......did nashville get hit hard? i knew i heard they were expecting some flooding, but any news of that is obviously not front page at this point.....

Hey tim-
nice to see you pop in.

Posted by tchandler on 09-02-2005 at12:46:

hey you guys, i was away from my computer for a while. sorry about that.

actually nashville didn't get much of anything. in the 4 years we've been here, we've had weather severe enough that we've had to have some expensive roof repairs but this one seemed to mostly just go around us. believe me, i thank God whenever that happens.

Hey Tim! That's some good news. There is not much of that this week.

btw, please tell Berger that Camarillo would barely respond to his Swahillian note last Friday night. Rob said even less? ARe they mad at Berger? The city of Camarillo said even less?

Posted by tchandler on 09-02-2005 at12:54:

they're probably tiring of berger. aren't we all?

Posted by tchandler on 09-02-2005 at12:55:

i would have loved to have heard you driving down the street yelling "MOMMY!" out your window, though.

My son did not love it?

some .odd weather runs through that state. you just never know.....

like last winter, when south of nashville (franklin and brentwood) had big snow, meanwhile, i got none on the northeast side.......

that's true. we had that really great mini-blizzard a couple of years ago. took me four hours to go 3 miles home. (is there a weather thread we should move this to?)

Posted by baxter on 09-02-2005 at13:27:

So, a mini blizzard is kinda like a Cher concert at the Hollywood Bowl?

sorry to be so serious today but what's happening to all those people down south (after the hurricane/flood) is really depressing. God help them.

Hi Tim. Ditto. I've been in tears for the last couple of days. Crying

you are correct, sir, and the people's response is, quite possibly one of the saddest parts...

hopes that it will lead to good, in some way, somewhere...

I'm still having a little trouble processing everything; especially with the start of classes, I've barely had time to think about everything that's going on. But I'm glad to hear that ya'll didn't have any trouble, Tim.

This song has been going through my head over the last few days. It doesn't fit exactly with what is going on but I sort of connect with the depression that it speaks of.

HUSKER DU
"Too Far Down"

I'm down again
And I don't know how to tell you
But maybe this time I can't come back
Because I might be too far down

I wish for real
That I could turn it on and off
Like hot and cold and up and down
Because I'm down again

I'm too far down
I couldn't begin to smile
Because I can't even laugh or cry
Because I just can't do it

If it was so easy to be happy
Why am I so down?
All I can do is sit and wonder if it's going to end
Or if I should just go away forever

When I sit and think
I wish that I just could die
Or let someone else be happy
By setting my own self free

And you don't want the emotion
Because the taste it leaves is for real
But nothing's ever real until it's gone
And I might be too far down

And is this just another thrown away
Or is this the end of the whole stupid road
But you wouldn't want to know how I feel anyway
Because the darkest hole is at the end of the road

I'm down again
And I guess I'm not the only one who dreams
That there's not any way to tell you
Because I might be too far down
