So the Tuxedo Clad Megastar, when are you going to sing some songs with more depth?

Carman: "As soon as Terry Taylor sings a song that, for once, acknowledges that the horrible crisis of abortion is taking place in our midst. Maybe we'll actually see that in one of these Strange Days."

Interesting. But those poor, old folks have something the babies don't......... a choice! I agree that it's a terrible shame that there are hucksters that think nothing of using the Gospel to part desperate people from their money (kinda sounds like all these Casinos we have springing up, huh?) but there's no way I could compare it to the mutilating of countless innocent children just so we don't have to face the consequences of our lifestyles or so some aging desperate woman can get the latest in miracle drugs to restore her youth. I see no comparison.
BTW I think Terry, even if tangentially, did touch on the subject at least once. I see this line from Sins of the Fathers as addressing the lifestyle that promulgates something like abortion.....
.....Where the glands have replaced the heart and soul
And we act out our darkest desires
OK, off the soap box now. But man, I'm gonna have to pull out SOTH for tomorrow's drive to work now!

When the Tuxedo Clad Megastar starts attacking the money hungry evangelists getting fat off of the old and naive then and only then will I consider him someone working for the good of mankind. There are bigger issues than abortion. At least (I believe) the babies go to heaven.

While not actually singing about abortion he did sing about how the life inthe womb is a life. and one whose death should be grieved over.
listen to Light Princess
Light Princess
from the album "Knowledge and Innocence"
Words and Music by Terry Taylor
©1986 SnellSongs (ASCAP)
Hand to teary eyes
Brush shadows (I see it now)
Much to my surprise
A light grows (I see it now)
No, I could not hold
This child in my arms
So I let her go and she
Floated to Heaven
She's up in Heaven
A loss, a gain
God knows her name
'Cos she's up in Heaven
A gift taken away
From my world (I see it now)
No, she could not stay
In this world (I see it now)
I have few answers
I quit asking "Why"
Since she's lighter than air and she's
Floating to Heaven
She's up in Heaven
So near, so far
Another star
That shines up in Heaven
Mmmmmmmm........
I see it now, I see it now
No, I could not hold
This child in my arms
So I let her go and she
Floated to Heaven
She's up in Heaven
A father gives
The Father takes
A father gives
The Father takes
Her on up to heaven
Mmmmmmmm........

"Far more dangerous than abortion"? I can't honestly agree with that. Its one thing to pick someone's pocket; and quite another to pick someone's limbs apart and kill them.
Still, I do agree that Terry has done a good job at exposing the silliness of much of the TV "ministries", and has helped us reflect on real Christian virtues in the process. Sure, the Tuxedo Clad Megastar oughtta oppose that type of stuff too. Trouble is, I think he's a little too sucked into it for the time being.
