You are a skeptic, but its true. At any given time about 5 may be internet bots, but the rest are people that have checked in and didn't log in to the forum. They are unique ip addresses, if the same ip address looks at the board and leaves and comes back it will be counted as 1 guest. The guest list is cleared periodically throughout the day, so those 40+ people may not be all on the site at the same time, but close.
This webite is linked on many other websites that generate traffic even if its just curious people; youtube, myspace, myccm, wikipedia, Tennapel.com, ccm.com, yahoo answers, internet movie database, Catscratch and Neverhood fan sites, and many others that I can't think of off the top of my head. The catscratch/Nevergood stuff is pretty huge.
