Yep! I like the variety. GRS is my favorite.

GRS (Except for "Hey, You Little Devil". I just really can't stand that tune)

listened to Scenic Routes today.
Its got so much- at times my favorite. ..being the debut and all.it has that 5% apprehensive tone.."will anyone like this but us?"

Scenic Routes is my favorite. The only one I don't have yet is Lost Cabin, which I hope to get at some point. Real Men Cry is the one I've probably played the most. My wife used to work at a breakfast joint and in charge of playing music--RMC was on her playlist and daily, scores of folk would ask who it was. Hopefully, a few of them were able to track it down.

Lost Cabin has a lot of twangy guitar and country vocals.

  Gh

Gift Horse is my fav, from top to bottom.
Lost Cabin is right up there.
Scenic Routes would have been if Terry had stayed away from politics.

Did I mention I love Scenic Routes? Tongue

Lost Cabin is my new favorite.

I love all the LD albums, it's hard to pick a favorite. But if I HAD to, I'd go with...

Gift Horse.

But I REALLY like all the others!!!!

LRRH--it's just so expansive. It's like a variety show-du-force. The jamming songs really jam, and the deep, thought-provoking stuff doesn't feel like a put-on. And I especially like how everybody contributed on this one... well, I forget... did Derri contribute anything but his pretty voice? Tongue

I have finally come up with the list.

1) Scenic Routes
2) LRRH
3) GRS
4) Island Dreams
5) Crying Towel

The rest are up in the air for me.
There are tracks I like on each record, but overall hit or miss.
Avocado Faultline would have made for a great Dogs record.

Overall the Dogs stuff I like is Weird Oddball Rock-n-Roll! Cool
Not country.

Or in the case of Island Dreams, just weird! Tongue

I never thought of Avacado as a Dogs project... but thinking about it, I think you're right.

I have heard or read somewhere or both that a lot of the AF songs were slated for the next Dogs record.
Then they changed they direction of the band music wise to more of a worship feel
and less of a Weird Oddball feel.

So it goes...

..and it seems the other Dogs were not too keen on "Pretend I'm Elvis."
