An author told me a good answer to that:

There is no such thing as a rock too big for God to lift, so of course He can't do that.

Makes sense to me.

I do... it's not one of the best, but it's pretty darn good...

I guess it's not really a "top five" but it's a great late 70's new wave tune Wink

specially that great song Rapture

And out comes the man from Mars
And you try to run but he's got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you're in the man from Mars
You go out at night eating cars
You eat Cadillacs Lincolns too
Mercurys and Subaru

Oh, and btw, speaking of Taylor songs (as in James Taylor songs....sorry, but I gotta TELL you guyz this!)

I won 2 tickets to SEE him on Nov 8th in my fair city. The beginning of his new tour - it starts HERE! I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it...............it's gonna be grand.

Smile

Broken Ladders to Glory - Interpretation?

I, too, count Broken Ladders to Glory as one of my many favorites by TT and Co., but can anyone help me interpret it? Sometimes I think I have it, other times, I'm lost. I sure appreciate it.

to JM- God and the Rock

JM-
I understand that God CAN create a rock to big for himself to lift
.
.
.
.
..
if He chose too.

After all- He chose a PERMANENT limited vessel- Jesus Christ.
Remember- the humaness of Christ has become a limiting factor for the eternal Spirit of God. (Col 2:9 the fullness of God is in a Man shape) Hes not flesh and blood- but flesh and Spirit- the resurrected Human- Jesus.
thats me answer- and I'm stickin to it!

This song is remarkably close to a song I penned as an insecure adolescent boy 25 years ago (after months of sizing myself up to other boys in my 7th grade locker room). I called the song 'Unattainable Girth'.
