reposting here b/c it is so darned funny and you are talking about fleeing to canada to avoid the aftermath of the military takeover at the republican convention after the FBI shuts down the democratic one. here you go...
=====================
Good News North America has learned that a coalition of speculative Canadian investors & developers have negotiated with eight provinces to build new cities with room for ten million Americans each, should Donald Trump be elected president. Quebec the largest province declined to participate due to “insufficient quantity of French speaking Ugly Americain”. Also abstaining was Prince Edward Island who feared it would be overrun by “redheaded American schoolgirls sporting pigtails & aprons”.

In a similar development all of the northern Canadian territories have agreed to make room for the entire US Native American population as long as they bring their casinos and clear title to all their reservations. This has significant repercussions for future negotiations between the two countries as it will make the United Nations of North American Native Peoples the second largest land holder in the US and Canada combined, just after Saudi Arabia.

Trump welcomed the news by offering to fund half the cost of these developments and was heard to say, “Finally getting rid of the pinko commies masquerading as democrats and red skins masquerading as... as red skins. With luck our friends south of the border will want to exit the party as well, leaving this fine land to me and my buddy there in Corona Del Mar”.

[Let me know if this needs a disclaimer... for Trump fans, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you are a Trump fan, although he is fortunate to have you. May he deserve your allegiance.]

That's no joke. It is actually true. I think the democrats would love Canada give or take our winters but I'm sure Alaskan democrats and Minnesotans and Mainians ( what do you call Maine-people?) wouldn't even notice. Health care, gun control (but not a total ban), less people in jail, pot legalization coming soon. Even doctor assisted suicide (Frown ) is available should some right wing nut job like Kevin O'Leary decide to run and win here!

Well, Ed is in luck. Dacula is getting a Depalma's--the wonderfully yummy, local franchise of Italian restaurants. I hope that one lives up to the name. The lovely wife and I get something to go every Friday evening from the one on our side of town, usually the eggplant florentine but sometimes a pasta dinner. Plus I have a draft beer from their ever-changing, idiosyncratic selection of 6 beers.

Shoot, it's only Tuesday.

I just found out that Ed McTaggart lives 30 miles from me. I had two thoughts.

1. That's cool.
2. Why?!?

So where do you live?

Athens, GA. McTaggart lives in Dacula, Georgia (I feel I can say that since it is public on his Facebook page). There's nothing about Dacula that would draw an Irvine, Calif. boy (or most Georgians) to it, so it just seems like there must be some personal reason that is mysterious to the rest of us.

As an aside, Terry Taylor has played at the Calvary Chapel here a couple of times. I didn't get to go, keeping alive my lack of ever seeing live anything related to Daniel Amos. I wonder if they got to visit while he was in town.

And I was a mere peripheral DA fan and in 2011 they played just 20 miles or so from my town. The Lordeth works in mysterious and comical ways.
