  Please pray fer me

I have to leave the ministry and I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Look up, cry out, maybe you have to leave your current ministry, but I'm sure God has a beautiful place for you yet to display his grace (likely as a counter to the gracelessness you've been extended?).

Indeed. I have always wondered about things such as this..I mean being in the ministry is a job you are getting paid to do. But it much more than that. It sounds weird to say "being paid" to do this but we all need some form of income. Terry Taylor is technically "in the ministry". Believe me God has used his words to speak directly to my heart. I would not be suprised if there is a TST penned tune that speaks about this issue...Hang in there..

You'll be in my prayers also.

I will keep you in my prayers too. In the meantime, take some comfort in these lyrics Phil Keaggy sings, in a song called "Disappointment" on his "Love Broke Thru" album.

DISAPPOINTMENT (from Phil Keaggy's "Love Broke Thru" album)
---------------
Disappointment - His appointment,
Change one letter, then I see
That the thwarting of my purpose
Is God's better choice for me.

His appointment must be blessing
Though it may come in disguise
For the end from the beginning,
Open to His wisdom lies.

Disappointment - His appointment
Whose? The Lord's who loves best.
Understands and knows me fully,
Who my faith and love would test.

For like loving, earthy parent
He rejoices when He knows
That His child accepts unquestioned
All that from His wisdom flows.

Disappointment - His appointment
No good thing will he withhold
From denials oft we gather
Treasures from His love untold.

Well, He knows each broken purpose
Leads to fuller deeper trust
And the end of all His dealings
Proves our God is wise and just.

Disappointment - His appointment
Lord I take it then as such,
Like the clay in hands of potter
Yielding wholly to Thy touch

All my life's plan is Thy molding
Not one single choice be mine
Let me answer unrepining,
Father not my will but Thine.

It is tough to see so many people in ministry being pushed out. My dad was a pastor and had a really negative experience which really affected him (what about God's call? Have I been wrong? Have I done something wrong?) and the family. He ended up taking almost a 18 month break from ministry and worked as a janitor. That wasn't his thing and in time, God did lead him back to ministry but in a different area. He is now a chaplain in the prison system. His congregation is not as demanding and really seems "captivated" by his ministry. (Sorry, that was bad.)

I will pray for you and yours. May you see God's hands of comfort during this time.

Consider it done.

re-"done"-dant

  done

that really WAS redundant!
(-knock it off, this is serious)

But God does. Praying He will begin to reveal it, and that you will begin to see it.

Praying that:
God shows you what He wants for your life.
God grants you peace and grace.
God allows you the time and space to realize the new goal He has for you.

I'm sure this is hard - it's never fun to be in that place of "not knowing"..................

I'm praying.
