  Disc 2

Ok, I've been playing the second disc on WEWH, I like it, but I still like the SOTH better. The third disc is very cool. I wish there was more of Terry reading the story.

donna nietche - both
the glory road - SOTH
can't take my.. - SOTH
evangiline - both
uneasy lies the... - SOTH
the organ bar - SOTH
time to go dancing - SOTH
sins of the fathers- SOTH
loveland - SOTH
hats - SOTH
my hand to God - SOTH
turn this off - WEWH
get on the bus - SOTH

I may change my mind over time.....

Which Wilco is this song from? I can't think of a song of theirs called Devil's elbow.

it's a short clip from wilco's song war on war and DA's Devils Elbow from WEWH.

like I said, it was kind of early this morning.....Red Face I was still asleep.

I'll have to play the clip again and see if they still sound the same to me or not.

Disc 2 is growing on me, I must admit. I put it in last night after a few days not listening to it (I also got "Making God Smile" which has a TST and LD track.) Last night I was starting to really appreciate the stripped down versions of the songs. I think being able to hear the lyrics on all the songs makes a big difference! Sometime on SOTH I can't understand a word (and I'm usually too lazy to look at a lyrics sheet.)

I have made a cd-r of discs 2 and 3 on 1 cd and its in heavy rotation. The interview w/ Terry at the end helps to make the whole thing make sense as well. Smile )

  Wishin' and Hopin'

I'm hoping to scrounge enough scratch for Little, Big and WEWH Bookset sometime soon. Hopefully, they'll still be available then!

As for "Devil's Elbow", if it sounds like Wilco's "War on War" then that can only be a positive thing. "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" is Tweedy and Co.'s best effort ever and certainly a welcome addition to Nonesuch's esteemed roster.

I played a cd-r of disk 2 and 3 on 1 disk several times when I drove back from Cali. It's great road music and therapy for what I'm going through right now. Smile )

I felt the same about Terry reading the story. He did a great job doing it and this story comes alive when read aloud. There was plenty of room on the disk and the story isn't that long.

Is Terry reluctant to read longer passages. He abridged the Chronicles as well.

It is still a great package. Just wondering.

that is just as well. I like the AC story, but not it's not really much of a "story" more like a beat poet's idea of a bible study Wink
