  Ask Me About Free Shipping......

MEGA

Yes that’s the word ……..mega.
I was at the dollar store the other day wasting a few minutes..and for some reason I glanced at the CD rack ( mainly to get a chuckle, the very unusual CD’s that end up these places)..when the word MEGA ..and Alternative Christian Music rather jumped out at me....

To cut to the chase- there was this box set- three CDs –

a) The Resurrection Band – the Light Years
(21 tunes.early stuff: autograph – amazing – white noise-I need your love- fer me there were 12 or more I hadn’t heard..and minimal Wendy… good ROCK from Glen and Co.)

b) LSU – Dogfish Jones
(Gene Eugenes Hammond B laced throughout is worth the price of admission, and Mikes dad Howard does two sea chanties..I liked it A LOT!- if you like Mike, and don’t have this- it’s a treat. From 97- I had’nt heard it before, full of great quirky rockin songs )

c) The Choir- Speckled Bird
(ask Carl- he gave me his copy- Kissers and Killers, Amazing…...good stuff)

The thick 3 CD jewel case is a bit sparse- no real artwork or anything, just titles …but the price was right…. A buck. – so I bought the other three they had too.

So- heres how the free shipping works:
Criteria 1 – you cant have more than one of these already on CD
Criteria 2- tell me in a few words why you think I should pay more to ship it to you than it cost me to buy.......And I will.

The first three good excuses- er, I mean answers..its yers.
After all – there’s a DA (TC on Speckled bird) and a LD (Gene on LSU) connection..and I look out fer my fellow dambers.

Lemmeno……………..

of the three- that was a jaw dropper-
so accessibly weird-but I love it.
i feel like I really scored with that one..and must say it wasnt high on my list of "must haves"
but after hearing it- I was pretty amazed..in that LSU Mike Knott sort of way..
its VERY good 90s music.

OK, I'm asking. How about some free shipping? I do have Speckled Bird but the other two are not in the Toque Boy library of fine music.

I had thought I might play up my lack of financial resources. I am currently a student getting by on student loans. My wife and I have twin daughters still under the age of two and another child showing up on the scene in less than a month. My wife will be on maternity leave for a year. BUT...

I did just spend a bunch of money on CDs and DVDs through eBay so that probably wouldn't be the best reason. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that Julie won't let me buy any new music for a long time so you would be helping out a fella who is temporary (I hope Big Grin ) cut off.

Tell you what. I like good music and what you have there is good music. I would love to have it and would enjoy listening to it very much. (I'd probably share the love by passing the Choir CD on to one of my brothers.) I hope that is a good enough reason to get the CDs shipped to Canada (Yikes!) but if others are found that are more suitable, I will accept that with grace and dignity. Oh, and I might scream and cry too.

NO FAT LADY HATH SUNG..BR

WHAT IS YOUR "WE MUST HAVE" TALE???
HMMMMM?

Big Grin

Well, if I sing then a fat lady hath sung! At least before this baby comes out. Tongue

Seriously, I wouldn't know what kind of tale to tell cept I've never heard either of the others and do enjoy Mike's music. MF would probably like to have them more than I would, but he's working so much lately that I don't know when he'll show his face round here.

Eddie worked at some place where they threw out the overstock CD's by the boxload. I guess they made more money writing it off as a loss. I'll see if I can find the story and show you Crying

You can't even begin to envisage all of the crappy cds we sent out.
What really amazes me is all of the crap that came back through returns.

What really gaulled me was......
Here we are in this crappy warehouse shipping out all this crap when under the same roof we've got Lost Dogs, Daniel Amos, Terry Taylor, Adam Again, Mike Knott and Rick Altizer and what do the zombies want. Jars Of Crap and Michael Crapping You Out Smith. I'll never understand it.

We actually had to call up Rick and see if he wanted any copies of his cds because we were about to throw them in the dump. You can't even begin to envisage all of the cds we threw away. Great music in the nadaed dump.
I remember tossing a bunch of stuff one day and somehow in the bunch there was a lone copy of Dogfish Jones by LSU. It's now in my collection. We didn't distribute it and it shouldn't have been there but I'm glad it was.

The waste the waste the waste.
I had to search forever but I found it Big Grin It was only one copy of Dogfish but tons of other good stuff. Sorry for the false memory Tongue
