With the cream on top? That's the real stuff....fresh from the farm. My family would get that on occasion growing up.

Morty Allen 07-16-2002 22:38 Forum: General Discussion

I believe is played by Greg Flesch(Gene Pool). If you notice during that segment only Camarillo, Berger Roy Al, and Spot are present when Morty is talking with them.

BTW - My sister got the video when it first came out. I laugh just as hard now as when I first saw it. I also believe that my mom did see it and laughed as well. My dad on the other hand...let's just say that he would get bored with it. It's just not the kind of thing he likes. I haven't tried to show it to any of my current friends. I have a feeling they won't quite appreciate it as I do.

LK-9 and others in N.Cali... 06-03-2002 01:32 Forum: General Discussion

Sounds like a reasonable deal. If there are a few(3-5 ?) who would be willing to pool together then it would cut the initial cost down making it more manageable. Say three split the initial cost which would be $500 + 1/3 hotel and food each. Then if we get at least 200 peaple at $10/ticket we should cover cost with a little extra for a cushion. These are all arbitrary and just as an example. It seems that there is interest. ? is - Is there enough of it to make it a reality?
Last Dec. I flew to Seattle to go to the show Theo organized for Andy's Angels featuring Terry and Mike. Every penny was worth it. Concord is a stone's throw away considering. I'd love to have the opportunity to invite my friends to a Dogs show. Let them experience it firsthand so they don't have to hear it from me for once.
Sooo, LK-9, I'm interested to help out, pool together, if there are others as well.

How can they bottle such a thing? How do ya keep the dark and the light from mixing?

The dark side overtakes the lighter side...but that's a different story. The beer itself is actually a dark brew with a beautiful tan head. So, the taste is again very similar to the classic 'black and tan' of Guinness and Bass Ale (or other stoudt/ale combo) but alas without the classic appearance.
Also as you drink a black and tan at a bar the two sides do slowly mix together, esp. when you drink it slowly as I do.
Yuengling Black and Tan was one of the first beers that I had that I really enjoyed plus it was the beer of choice among my friends in PA during my early twenties. So if you're ever passing through PA for whatever reason, stop by a watering hole and have a pint if so inclined. Smile ) Enjoy, whatever ya have.

Cheers, S

S.,
What is this? I haven't heard of it. I take it that it's a stout? Sounds really good.
LK-9

that's brewed in America's oldest brewery in Pottsville, PA.
Quite frankly, I've never seen it sold outside of PA although the guy at counter where I bought it said it is available in NJ, MD and I think NY as well. I always try to bring some back to CA after a visit to PA. This is the first time I ended up with a whole case. I'll have it for a little while so if ya want to try it let me know. It's similar to a classic black and tan (half Guinness, half Bass ale). They also make a really good lager. Very popular in Lancaster, PA where I grew up.

Although I don't own any of Cockburn's recordings yet, he is an artist I respect. In U2's song God Part II they quote a lyric of his 'I'm gonna kick the darkness till it bleeds daylight'. Bruce is considered to be the Canadian version of Bob Dylan as an influential folk artist. I'm most familiar with his songs from 'Dancing in the Dragon's Jaw'(I hope I got that right). Wonderful music and lyrics.

Whew, glad it's happening to you too and not just a result of the Guinness.
LK-9

Ohhh, Guinness sounds good. During my visit to PA I had to buy a case!! of Yuengling's Black and Tan. (PA laws, they can't break a case and I didn't know where to buy a six-pack). I shipped it out to CA and it arrived yesterday. Anyway, that's one of my favorite beers and although I don't drink very much anymore, I did have one last night. Pleased Hopefully it's not a result of that.

Also, concerning the 'Terry's conscience' post - The earring looks good. So Terry, please ignore your conscience! Big Grin

Just trying to bring this back to TST related stuff. Cool

Cheers, S

Hey LK-9, you can add at least one more to the list of folks from NorCali who would love to see DA do a show in the Golden State. Who knows, maybe we can travel together and play our favs along the way if it's in SoCali. For NorCali, The Fillmore would be cool or The Warfield. Alas, we may have to settle for a smaller venue.
