For those of you who are on Facebook, join the group "Fans of the Band That Won't Go Away." You join the group, your friends see it, they get intrigued, they ask you about who this band is, you loan them an album, and they hooked! Brilliant!

I'm seriously beginning to wonder if I did something to cause the USPS to hate me. Could they be a tad ticked that I've had eight different addresses in the past 18 months? I never received my grad school admissions notification letter, and that was coming from barely forty miles away. I can only imagine what might've happened between Missouri and Virginia...

And I still haven't even gotten mine yet. Boo. (I'm not whining; just anxious to get it!)

Me neither.... I thought that when I didn't get it at Sunday's concert, it would be OK because it would be waiting for me when I came home from vacation. D'oh! I feel like Homer Simpson.

I (hopefully still) am going on a week-long roadtrip tomorrow. Sure hope it's in the mailbox today...

It was done 10am Saturday. I do have Moreland and Craig's Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview that I need to keep working my way through, though.

So how about getting some of the new songs up on the MySpace page so the whole world can enjoy a small taste of the Eddies!?

In the words of St. Thomas Aquinas, "We'd really appreciate it!"

(Of course I just realized that you guys might not have the actual cd's yet...in which case disregard above message until you do).

I love Doug TenNapel's works. First noticed his stuff on Five Iron Frenzy's album covers. He's just as crazy as Five Iron and Daniel Amos. Gotta love it...

oh geez...wish I'd seen this a week ago. I live in VB, but not sure I could get 'em booked in a week. How does this normally work? Would someone need to guarantee a certain amount of money up front?

To keep this re-re-release as close to the original experience as possible, it will be held captive for 744 days. Just to let a new generation know how it felt. Big Grin

[26 years ago....man, I feel old.]

Don't joke like that. Just because some of us were still several years away from conception when it was originally recorded is no reason to pick on us now... Happy

I've never really thought this one out...let's see...

The first time I can remember hearing the name "Daniel Amos" was on the Surfonic Water Revival album. I'd never heard of this band before, and being fourteen at the time, I bought the album because it featured songs by the OC Supertones, The Insyderz, Smalltown Poets, Plankeye, and All Star United (all of whom have more or less disbanded, sadly). I did enjoy DA's track on there, "Pay For Surf", since it's rather upbeat and catchy, although I didn't really get the lyrics (still not sure I do...). But, like I said, I'd never heard of the band, hadn't seen any album they'd released, and didn't really pursue it.

Again, being a teenager who was into Christian music in the late 90s, I was naturally a big fan of the T&N and BEC record labels, and I heard several Lost Dogs songs on samplers and compilations from those two companies after the Dogs sigend with BEC. I don't think I connected them with Daniel Amos, though, yet.

Fast foward to my freshman year of college (2002?), when I started getting into Steve Taylor (that's another story in and of itself). As I was reading up on Steve, I kept on seeing the Lost Dogs and their associated bands popping up. I then read about the Swirling Eddies song "Hide the Beer, The Pastor's Here." As this was exactly the type of humorous/sarcastic songwriting I like, I started trying to find Eddies albums. From there, it took a couple of years, but I finally got my first Daniel Amos album (Preachers From Out of Space) around December '05.

So, there's my great American novel about "How I Found the Eddies".

Thanks for rubbing it in. Wink I wasn't actually on planning on going that high ($165), but as it turns out, I accidentally typed in a couple extra zeros on the bid, so I was just thankful someone quit bidding before I lost all the money I put aside for grad school. Happy

I have yet to hear DFBB in its entirety yet. I've heard the title track on Our Personal Favorites, the remix of "Unattainable Earth" on MFT, and just recently, "Strange Animals" on the DA MySpace page. Would love to see it re-released.
