Love to. With the delays in between releases, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and since I have (and intend to) buy almost everything Terry touches, this will be no exception.

I'm really getting excited! Is there a chance though that this could slip past the supposed end of the world (aka the Mayan calendar) into 2013?

Yeah, I alluded to this in a recent post titled SoS (ala Simon & Garfunkel). I want to support Terry and the band, and so it helps to have something new to buy.

I just received an updated Cornerstone 2012 band schedule, and I am finding almost no bands that will make it worth my while to come. No DA, Dogs, 77s, Kerosene, Roe.
Besides The Choir, am I missing something?

Dennis, I don't know if you remember me, but I met you in 2002 at LifeFest, at the SwEds concert. That year was fun but weird - remember how crazy they were about time frames, holding those signs up? That was also the last time I saw Rick Altizer - he's a cool guy and a great musician.
Anyway, this c-stone will probably be the last time a lot of us will be in one spot, so if I make it there I will be saying hello (and goodbye) to everyone with a DA, SE, LD, TST, 77s, or related shirt on.

vapspwi, let me tell you as graciously as I can, from someone who started and has quietly followed this thread, that your choice of words is needlessly provocative ("demonstratively false assertions", "barely exist anymore", etc.). Please be considerate - tone it down and try not to flame, it is not helpful.
I will stand by my perspective as I started this thread, and it has been confirmed by others who know much more from the inside. If the Townsends are speculating on certain things, doesn't it follow that we speculate to a much greater degree? Give them some grace and benefit of the doubt... they are invested in the fest to a much greater degree than either of us, know the bands far better than we do, and are privy to details that we will never know.
We are on the same side, hopefully - we all want the best for the bands we love, and we are sincerely mourning the pending death of a beloved outlet for some great Christian music and camaraderie.

Any chance DA or Terry will make it for this final time?
So far, I see about 60 bands confirmed, including 77s unplugged, Choir, Violet Burning, Jeff Elbel & Ping. Not bad so far, considering all the bands are playing for free this year, but it would be great to beef this up with more of the bands we love. Somehow maybe we can make it worth their while via the merch tent, no matter where they're relegated...

I stopped coming around 2005 because:
Cost - they raised prices for the daily to something very unreasonable. I was taking multiple people in one car for slightly more than a day, so they charged me for a two-day rate which took nearly all my cash and left me feeling ripped off.
Bands - there were only a few DA-related bands that were booked, and a lot of screamo/emo bands I wanted nothing to do with. It made no sense to spend tons of money on a daily or go a full week, when the bands I wanted were not there.
Misplaced priorities - higher prices, coupled with the different band lineups and the things at the fest they were clearly spending a lot of money on, didn't sit well with me. This was topped off with an emotional appeal for money from Bono on the Jumbotron that seemed incongruous with the situation.
JJ Thompson wrote me a kind email in response to my issues above. Maybe he heard me, I don't know. I have always respected him and his ministry. But he was in the middle of it for a while.
I don't mean to be ungrateful. Cornerstone is one of the few places I can see the bands I love. I really loved and appreciated the 2011 fest and will go to 2012. But clearly they did lose their way at some point.

2011 was a great year though, for the bands I love... most of the DA-related ones, plus some other awesome ones - Servant, Rez, McGuire, Keaggy, Stonehill, etc. And what a treat to also see Kerosene Halo and Jeff Eibel+Ping.
C-2011 will be a Cornerstone year to remember for the rest of my life. I just can't hope for this legendary lineup in 2012. However, I am looking forward to hopefully seeing Terry (+ maybe some DA bandmates?), Steve, Derri, Mike, and a few others. In addition there is one more artist I highly recommend that will be there: Josh Garrels.

The sound of silence does not equate to momentum (mass times change in velocity) or impulse (force times change in time).
Where's the momentum?
Where's the impulse?
