Thread: will this ppl want to release DA and SE stuff |
|
Meis Music Group now controls the Frontline/KMG archives. They have inked a deal with Intense Millenium for certian titles for physical distribution. Another deal has been made with Syntax Distribution for digital distribution. There are probably many titles still avalible for physical license (Intense Millenium seems to foucus on hard rock/metal).

In the case of the Steve Taylor stuff, its not anything thats ever been legitimately available. |
He seems to have dropped that "explanation"..... Now he simply states that they are "not original issue copies", and that it is a CD-R....

These are newly bootlegged.. the same person is bootlegging a few other titles as well, including "demos" from a certain artist that is completely horrified that they're being sold at all. |
steve taylor, or mike stand? |
Taylor. He's kind of ticked off.
If they have Mike Stand junk too, he should probably be alerted if he doesn't already know. |
There are currently over 180 titles label as CDR in the RadRockers webstore. I assume most of them are pirate CDs (?)...Randy Stonehill, Daniel Amos, Altar Boys, Steve Taylor, Prayer Chian, Cush, Kerry Livgren +++++

Yeah its hard to say, I know it was advertised poorly.
The Reissue of "Sky Is Falling" was similar to the reissues of "Horrendous Disc", its like partially the Canadian, Partially the US and Partially the UK version, even though its claimed to be otherwise. Its been said that on the reissue of "Sky Is Falling" that Larry actually upped his own backing vocals somewhat. Although that may be an issue of using the wrong master which has often been the case. |
From what i remember Larry said that the original master for "Sky Is Falling" was lost by Word, or they did not return it to him...or something like that. So the CD version was patched together by what was still avalible in the Solid Rock library....

ChristianDiscs did reissue Stonehill's "Street Tunes" EP, perhaps it did not sell enough copies to continue doing reissues ?
a live album/rare tracks/reissue would be awesome indeed!

For a copule of days the new 77s '99' CD was labeled as a DVD in the 77s webstore, I guess that caused some confusion for people....

According to Larry this new CD-r is the official 13-song (+bonus tracks) version of HD. Apparently the masters for this "official version" was just recently discoverd...

hmmm...it does not make sense. let's say he licenced the album for $5000, he have to sell 200 CD-r units to make that much....and he will probably only sell 100....so in the end: we never get a proper HD version, and he makes less money.

why don't Stunt licence the album for the deluxe reissue ? Solid Rock would probably make more $$$ on a deal like that rather than sales of a CD the fans of the band don't want to buy.
