It's pretty crazy what these guys charge. We brought in a speaker (1 guy, minimal props) for a 1-hour session, and he charges $5500 for that, but he cut it down to $3500. I can pay a few hundred bucks and have Mike Roe play in my living room, and have several times. Worth every penny, and I'm actually seeing someone who has honed a talent and skill. I echo what has been said here: they charge what the market will bear, and seem to be leaving the concept of ministry by the wayside, even as they tout their music or speaking as ministry of some kind.

I won't make it this year, sadly, but with Over the Rhine and Bill Mallonee dropping out, there are two acts right there that might have pushed me over the edge to attending. C-Stone was a great experience when I've attended, and even though it has changed, it was still a great catch-all for bands you never see, and certainly never see in one place. That said, you'd think since they've been doing it this long, they could have pulled it together and gotten a clue about who their core audience were/are. The average C-Stone ticket buyer probably wasn't going for Toby Mac.

I like the older bands and the newer bands (really dug Flatfoot 56 the last time I was there), and really enjoyed that cross section.

Hey...

The subtitle of John Wayne was "Orange Grotesque, vol. 1" or something like that. Was there ever going to be a volume 2, and if so, what would it have encompassed?

Tour CD? I didn't see anything like that at the Nashville show.

I didn't realize there were so many board members at this show, or I would have said "hi" to you all. Was the guitar problem during "New Car"? It was funny. I think he may have played the last note of the song. Some observations:

--Paul certainly adds to the mix vocally. I would characterize his stage presence as frenetic, when compared to the others.

--I would say that turnout for a show like this in Nashville was actually decent in light of how apathetic people are for a lot of shows.

--I have to say that I've never heard Terry sound this good. Not that he ever sounds bad, but he seemed a little reinvigorated. You could definitely tell he was happy that DA is playing again.

--I'm glad they have the twin lead attack of Jerry and Greg. That's probably my favorite lineup of the band.

Not to get too dramatic, but the show reminded me of the history of these guys and the treasure of what this band, and the other Dogs-related bands, have accomplished. Back catalogs of consistently good-to-great music over a period of decades. My only complaint (and it's small one) is that there wasn't much music product. There was, however, posters, shirts and towels(!).

Boy, I hope so. I hope at least one of the venues has decent A/V recording equipment, and something leaks out, or, even better, we get an official release.

Beat me to it, Longstride. Great show, for sure, with a great set list. Cool venue (church with real sound system and lighting). If there are any tapers out there, or any way to get any recording (video or audio) of this show, I would greatly appreciate it!

How did DFBB do, sales-wise? I'm guessing that there would have been more reissues from Arena Rock if it had performed as well as they thought. But, that doesn't mean it didn't sell.

I asked for two reasons:

I like to know what I'm buying. I've had CD-R's do some strange things, as I'm sure anybody who has a lot them has seen. I've had layers separate, the reflective surface peel, etc. Of course, now I just rip 'em to a hard drive, so it doesn't matter much, but I still like to know.

I'm always interested in how other bands are pressing small runs (which was going to be my next question) because, being a musician, I may have a need for it sometime in the future. Does this mean that there isn't a glass master for pressing, or is it some kind of in between thing? I'd be interested in a link or more info if you can get it.

Not trying to be a jerk here. Just want to know whether or not they are pressed, silver CD's, or CD-R's. Is there a reason why you're not specifically saying? I have no issue with supporting Terry, I just want to know what I'm going to get if I order it.

Didn't see this anywhere in the thread, but I was wondering if the standard pressing is a CD or a CD-R, as I assume the personalized song version is a CD-R.
Am I wrong?
