The drive to the Gorge from Humboldt was brutal. I was running late because of a Neville Bros. concert in So Oregon the night before that my wife had bought tickets for and I drove like a madman. I had to park way out on the outskirts and ran downhil, uphill, downhill with my poor wife following. Her short legs doing doubletime. Got there to see the 77's last song.
Seeing the show on the 'Making Of' dvd just makes me feel more deprived.
I want to see DA!!
Anyplace with a decent sized airport and a venue that's a modest taxi fare from a respectable hotel and I'm in for at least $100 x 2.

"Father Joe," a
autobiography by Tommy Hendro (of Spinal Tap fame--he played the band's
manager),
===========
Actually, that's Tony Hendra of Spinal Tap fame. Also once a contributer to National Lampoon, esp. the first LP.
I'm sure someone has pointed that out to Terry by now.

Wadd'ya mean no one sings about Glendale?

GLENDALE TRAIN
(JOHN DAWSON)

SOMEBODY ROBBED THE GLENDALE TRAIN
THIS MORNIN’ AT HALF-PAST NINE
SOMEBODY ROBBED THE GLENDALE TRAIN
AND I SWEAR I AIN’T LYIN’
THEY MADE CLEAN OFF WITH SIXTEEN G’S
AND LEFT TWO MEN LYING COLD
SOMEBODY ROBBED THE GLENDALE TRAIN
AND THEY MADE OFF WITH THE GOLD

CHARLIE JONES WAS THE ENGINEER
HE HAD TWENTY YEARS ON THE LINE
HE KISSED HIS WIFE AT THE STATION GATE
THIS MORNING AT SIX THIRTY-FIVE
NOW EVERYTHING WENT FINE ‘TIL HALF PAST-NINE
THEN CHARLIE LOOKED UP AND HE SAW
THERE WAS MEN ON HORSES, MEN WITH GUNS
AND NO SIGN OF THE LAW

SOMEBODY ROBBED THE GLENDALE TRAIN
THIS MORNIN’ AT HALF-PAST NINE
SOMEBODY ROBBED THE GLENDALE TRAIN
AND I SWEAR I AIN’T LYIN’
THEY MADE CLEAN OFF WITH SIXTEEN G’S
AND LEFT TWO MEN LYING COLD

SOMEBODY ROBBED THE GLENDALE TRAIN
AND THEY MADE OFF WITH THE GOLD
AMOS WHITE WAS THE BAGGAGE MAN
AND HE DEARLY LOVED HIS JOB
THE COMPANY, THEY REWARDED HIM
WITH A GOLDEN WATCH AND FOB
WELL, AMOS HE WAS A’ MARKIN’ TIME
WHEN THE DOOR BLEW OFF HIS CAR
THEY FOUND AMOS WHITE IN FIFTEEN PIECES,
FIFTEEN MILES APART

Got My Shirt 02-17-2005 21:45 Forum: General Discussion

I'm a little puzzeled with how I can wear a shirt that says 'God Went Bowling' all day and no one even makes a peep of a comment.

I could kick myself for not getting Fred's book.
Are there any out there for sale?

Also... Bigdork, is Glendale that little town by Mesquite,NV that the New Riders of the Purple Sage sing about?

Thanks Linda 12-19-2004 02:31 Forum: General Discussion

I don't know about anybody else but I thought the Eugene show was great. I mean really great. The sound, the songs, the vocals, all great.
Theo too. I never heard that Leonard Cohen song before.

My wife and i are planning on attending, Linda.

21+ means no kids are allowed?

Glad you guys are coming! Yeah, it certainly means no kids...at least none younger than 21. Wink Cafe Paradiso started serving alcohol (not just beer and wine) about a year ago.

It's a great, intimate venue. Mike really likes it there and is excited that he gets to play there with Terry. AND they do have great food--not just cheesecake!

BTW, Joey, the Eugene show is the day AFTER Theo's, not the day before.

Just beer for me thanks. I hope the expresso machine doesn't drown out the music.

Same format? First Mike then Terry then Both Together?
