Thread: DA Tour 2011 |

Almost TEN years. Can you believe that, fellas? Wouldn't it be cool if the guys surprised us with yet another one?

Actually, I like his music. Some of it. He was an important part of CCM music for a long time. But he is definitely not DA and I'm sure that's part of it.

Was checking out his Wikipedia page and his first album was from 1980 "God's Not Finished with Me". I suppose his last album could be 2021 "Yep, I'm Finished".
Seriously been listening lately to a cassette copy of "The Champion" in my car. It's worn to the point the letters are gone from the cassette but played just fine until the other day. I popped it in and it sounded awful and muffled. I popped it out and discovered the pressure pad had come off. So this cassette died within days of the death of its subject.
It was a good cassette; Sony media with chromium dioxide and Dolby HX pro. It sounded about as good as a commercial cassette ever did.

Thread: Tim's birthday today on the Forum |
|
You know that any given person is complex, lives a long life (for an animal anyway) and there is certainly only so much we can know about him. I know there were good things and bad things in Tim's life (as in all our lives) that we'll never know about; things known only to his close friends and family, and others known only to Tim and God. All these things contributed to the length and health of his life. These factors may be none lf our business.
For one I think he was an extraordinarily tall man and I believe that makes for a shorter lifespan.

Check out (again) "Waking Up Under water" on "Dig Here..." If I didn't know better I would have pegged that for Terry.

Thread: DA ~ Dig Here Said The Angel (2013) |

I always thought "Dig Here..." is just dark and melancholy, overall. I suggest now is a good time to play it, all the way through, as we hit fall here (in the northern hemisphere). Wait until a bit before dark, when the sun is setting and start in on disk one track one.

Can anyone post a song where he is featured, or really shines? I'm sure I've heard him in some early DA stuff but I need reminded.

Keep that first one, order a second one. The first one will be a collector's item, like when they strike a penny off-center.

Well, you are certainly in our thoughts. I hope the little guy is born okay.

Thread: Daniel Amos - Horrendous Disc Deluxe |

Just today went plowing through all the cool bonus material. Of course I listened to the downloads first when they became available and spun all of the vinyl when it finally shipped. Just today did I look at the rest. I read the whole big glossy book, all the way through. I really appreciated most the nice period photos. I read the production and release history and it still makes no sense! What a train wreck! It makes me appreciate this release all the more. I read the little book, too. I scrutinized all the excellent album art. Signed photos, little DA buttons, guitar picks. 3D Glasses! The promo disk looks almost edible to me. I don't know if you guys remember these, but years ago they had Lifesavers pops that were swirled white and blue just like this record. Evocative!

On my screen it's planted on Ed's cymbal. It must be like a floating element the position of which changes by the size of your monitor.
