Forums that eliminate post counts address this pretty well, I think. Otherwise, you see really silly posts in the pursuit of elevated postcounts, a pursuit that adds nothing to the proceedings except bloat of the most worthless sort.

(Johne has 5749 posts on one forum, and 7,386 on another.)
