Has anyone read quotes or heard responses from any of the distinguished artists who were paid tribute to on Sacred Cows and what they thought of the Eddies' takes on their songs?

Speaking of Sacred Cows. I have a coupla questions for you folks.
I don't listen to CCM music. Never have. Never will.
So, what I'm curious about is: "Will I get it?"
If I buy myself a copy of Sacred Cows, will it be very meaningful to me? There is a pretty high chance that I won't have heard any of the songs on there ever before. So would it even be worthy my while?
(And I'm certainly not going to lower myself to the level of actually buyin that music just so I can understand the Eddies unique spin on them...)
And speaking of Sacred Cows - has anybody noticed that there is a Carmen on Uncle Stonehill's latest Hat?
What's up with that?
And what's Carmen's last name anyway: Ministries? Mianta? I can't find his wretched last name at his web site. Is it just Carmen Carmen. Or is Carmen his last name?
(Or is it Clinton? Is he secretly Bill Clinton's brother and doesn't want anybody to know about it?)
Lastly - does he live in San Diego?

I haven't heard some of the songs on there, but there still pretty funny, in a surreal, Pythonic sort of way. But the song are of course funnier if you've heard the real thing.
As for Carman's last name, I thought it was Miranda.

Terry once said that, Alex MacDougall sat behind
one of Degarmo and Key (can't remember which one right now)
at the Doves or someplace and told him that the
Eddies covered "I Use the J Word"...
His response was "I knew we shouldn't of recorded that song."
As silly and bad as the recordings are, I've always
seen them as a parody not only of the songs.. but the
cheesyness, shallowness, and gimicky CCM market stuff.
I mean, "God made convertables" ...please.
"God Good - Devil Bad" ...hmmm deep.
I realize some of them are meant to be just fun songs,
but the CCM market really pushes this type of stuff
and ignores anything with much thought.

The Eddies are great. If you are unfamiliar with them, stop everything that you are doing and go to the DA Webstore and purchase Zoom Daddy. This is my favorite recording of the 90s period. It has great tunes and the best lyrics ever.

Yeah, I don't like CCM. It has motivated me to not listen to the "Christian" radio station, or mainstream Christian stuff. The only Christian bands I listen to right now are DA and the Eddies.

The Devil is Bad- The W's (Don't you get it?)
Barlow Girls- Superchick (the worst CCM band around)
There's No Life Away From You- The Supertones (I like the Supertones, but this song is just plain obnoxious)
Something by Zoegirl (or some such group)
Something by one of the Christian boy bands

I really need to read these threads better. what you say is very true... I think D&K try to be clever... I kind of recall wearing a D&K Tee-Shirt that said "Boycott Hell" which seemed kind of cool and the time 
but yes it all seems to be music for christian kids who want to be as shallow as their "worldly" friends
