It arrived! I have the album, T-shirt and handwritten lyrics. The lyrics were for "One More Time" which is my favourite track from any of Terry's solo albums! That song will be played at my funeral service. Hopefully years from now...

Yes, basically the DA Store is being migrated to Bandcamp, as due to ongoing family illness it can't be maintained properly as part of this site.
I think this is a good move and will take a lot of stress off people. I might order some stuff there soon as well!

I found this thread because yesterday's "birthdays" section had someone who was an actual member who posted stuff (his age was a giveaway) and that had been the last thread he posted on! Because it was an interesting topic that I had missed the first time around, I thought it might be worth resurrecting.

I like your thoughts there, Jimmy. "Dig here..." is such a strong album, and sits right up near the top of my DA faves (which still do change as I re-listen to them). Anyone else want to share their thoughts here?

To the top!

For me, it is SANCTUARY.
(Beautiful One is pretty high up there though).

Some profound thoughts here. I originally got this album on a tape that a friend had recorded from the LP, as it was never released here in New Zealand as far as I was aware.
I now have the CD version as well. "Knowledge" is a special album for me (I actually have 2 copies on vinyl and one CD) and like you, I was a bit disappointed by "Briefing" initially.
The songs just grow on you, though. Now I really love it even though it's played less than other TST solo albums.

Interesting. I have the original vinyl and also the CD. Somewhere, I also have a cassette copy that a friend sent me so I could hear the album before I bought it. Will have to check this out. I know that there is a Bandcamp version of "Knowledge and Innocence" which has extra stuff on it - is there one of "Briefing"?

Jimmy, Tim was the only member of DA that I ever saw play live. (Phil Keaggy/Randy Stonehill Band) In one of the online chats I made some comments about the poor bass sound in that concert and he gave a great reply!
That, and a couple of other online interactions made him the one member that I felt that I "knew" a little. Since that time I have Jerry as a Facebook friend, which has been great, but like you, I long to meet him face to face one day.....
Hope things are going better for you. Things are not so great for me as well. Day to day.

I hadn't realised that it was his last thread.....but the fact that he got to hear the album is great but bittersweet.

That's a great podcast to listen to. It gives such a good background to the songs and the recording of them. I am still working through the download of the new album - many gems to discover yet. As others have commented, the best albums are often those that take a while to get into...until they grab you!

Yes, I agree. It has meant that I can look through my DA/Terry etc collection and pick stuff out that will speak to me in whatever situation I am in at the time.
Today I listened to the Live CD from the 1979 Calvary Chapel show...

Yeah, sorry to use the NZ term for it. Most teachers here know the "Substitute Teacher" video clip by Key and Peele, so I should have used that term. That clip was used here for teacher education in why it is so important to pronounce student's names correctly....

December 1989? It's hard for me to remember exactly, but I was getting ready to change jobs. I had spent 10 years at my first school as a teacher and had resigned and was living on Relief Teaching plus income from signwriting, while surfing, playing in a band, doing some recording and a little bit of my own Art.
Not enough to pay the bills though, so I had just accepted a job offer at another school 25 minutes North of me....located on a beach that actually had surfable waves occasionally!
I would have flown or driven South that year to visit my parents, so was probably trout fishing and enjoying having my meals cooked for me. It was the end of a really life-changing 10 years and the beginning of a 5 year period that was also creative, challenging and exciting. I still visit that area today when I can, to see the great friends I made and the amazing coastal landscape.

Hi Jimmy, pretty much but with less milk than a latte. It's a decent size cup but not sure what to compare it to. The last coffee I bought in the US was a Starbucks (20 years ago) and it was, ah, not very nice!

It's nearly here though! I can't wait (but will have to wait and a lot longer than most of you because I live on the other side of the world....) Oh, for a "Hole In The World" that could speed up postage!
