Yeah, sorry to use the NZ term for it. Most teachers here know the "Substitute Teacher" video clip by Key and Peele, so I should have used that term. That clip was used here for teacher education in why it is so important to pronounce student's names correctly....

December 1989? It's hard for me to remember exactly, but I was getting ready to change jobs. I had spent 10 years at my first school as a teacher and had resigned and was living on Relief Teaching plus income from signwriting, while surfing, playing in a band, doing some recording and a little bit of my own Art.
Not enough to pay the bills though, so I had just accepted a job offer at another school 25 minutes North of me....located on a beach that actually had surfable waves occasionally!
I would have flown or driven South that year to visit my parents, so was probably trout fishing and enjoying having my meals cooked for me. It was the end of a really life-changing 10 years and the beginning of a 5 year period that was also creative, challenging and exciting. I still visit that area today when I can, to see the great friends I made and the amazing coastal landscape.

Hi Jimmy, pretty much but with less milk than a latte. It's a decent size cup but not sure what to compare it to. The last coffee I bought in the US was a Starbucks (20 years ago) and it was, ah, not very nice!

It's nearly here though! I can't wait (but will have to wait and a lot longer than most of you because I live on the other side of the world....) Oh, for a "Hole In The World" that could speed up postage!

But not everything. We have to leave some mystery in the song!
Low Crawls and High Times is just the best thing on the album for me, though.

I managed to avoid any of the M8 releases except "Live at Cornerstone 2K". At least it wasn't a re-release of a studio album!

Jason, nobody has done more to keep the legacy of Daniel Amos alive than yourself and Eric. While many people might want to see FS in some sort of remaster form, I respect the fact that you are not in any position to do more than you have already.

Stay safe.

Another factor that affects the re-release of FS is who actually owns the masters for it. The ownership is not so clear cut and I think it will make it much harder to get a new release out because of it....and maybe expensive!

No, sadly. The closest was Tim Chandler who came here with the Keaggy/Stonehill Band (and I got to see him). They were pretty well known here in the "Shotgun Angel" days though.

I voted today and met a DA fan! 10-16-2020 15:23 Forum: General Discussion

It's New Zealand General Election day today. I took my 18 year old son, who is voting for the first time, to the nearest polling station. I had a choice of two that were close, and chose the one that was closest to my workplace. Good choice.
My choice of T shirt was the Horrendous Disc....I thought that maybe someone would ask what it was.
After voting, and waiting for my son to finish, I stood outside and chatted to a guy I knew. One of the Polling Station workers came over and said "Are you a Daniel Amos fan?" This started a great chat where I brought him up to date with the band and suggested that he could visit the website (a quick chat, so he was able to get back to his job!).
So, if he gets to look at the website and sees this post - welcome to the Daniel Amos Forum!
