When the beast is crowned, we'll be at the dance.
You in your tattered gown, me in my underpants.
I will turn to salt; You will turn to sand.
We'll get blown across the cracked linoleum out to the promise land.

The lyrics to The Prodigal Bride (I'll Wait for You) are great lyrics describing the church.

here, touch my side
let doubt be crucified
nailed with your wounded pride
to love's grim altar
here, taste my flesh
my bloody humanness
i am no phantom guest
no skinless martyr

Everyone seems to think they've got it made
That you're on a rack by the door
It's true, I don't know much except I am saved
From falling through cracks in the floor

Has there ever been any consideration to publishing a book of Terry's lyrics? He sure has the volume to fill a book. I would guess that 75% or more of his lyrics are poetry quality. And since Terry owns the lyrics, the major cost would be printing.
I know of a number of people that would enjoy such a lyric/poetry book who would normally be uninterested in CDs because their musical tastes differ.
(You might even be able to sell copies to some of the Literature Departments at the school's listed in "Hide the Beer...")

I think that is a great idea. You can fill it with lyrics and fan comments about how the lyrics have spoken to us.

Have Doug Tennapel illustrate it! (Or, if he's not available - maybe Thomas Kinkeade?)

Thats actually something Terry's wanted to do for a while... I think it'll happen at some point. He seems interested enough in it that it comes up every now and then.
As far as illustrations go... I think last time the idea came up, he wanted to do not only have TenNapel and a few other folks like that do illustrations, but also open it up to have fans contribute potential illustrations as well.

I'd surely buy one or two copies. I hope it happens eventually. Terry's got a few thousand good songs left in him, so maybe there will be other volumes as well.
