- Tim Moon's Remnant is released. The album, which was produced by Phil Keaggy, includes covers of Terry's "Hound of Heaven," "That's Where Jesus Is," and "Built for Glory." Other covers included on the album include various songs by Chuck Girard, Barry McGuire, Malcom and Alwyn, Mark Heard, Julie and Buddy Miller, Larry Norman and others.

- Doug Doyle passes away. Doug had been heavily involved as an engineer and with other duties on albums by Daniel Amos, Terry Taylor and many others.
Terry: "I am profoundly heartbroken over the loss of my dear friend Doug Doyle. Doug was not only a brilliant recording engineer who was instrumental in helping to create what I believe to be some of my best work but he was, more importantly, a loyal friend and fellow believer who impacted my life in profound and lasting ways. The number of life's ups and downs we shared, both artistically and personally, are such that it would be impossible for me to detail them all here.
Many years ago Doug had moved on with his life, making the decision to move out of state. It was only relatively recently (before learning he had cancer) that I had contacted him specifically about working together again. Doug was as thrilled with the prospect as I was. Then came the diagnosis, and with it came the urgency of making this dream a reality as soon as it was humanly possible. As is often the case, God had other plans and it was not to be, at least on the scale we had originally envisioned. For me there would be no reuniting again with Doug and Rob Watson, that golden trio of close friends and musicians who, back in the day, had never failed to collectively bring out the very best in each of us. I am deeply grateful however that Doug was able to play a pivotal role in the creation of the new Horrendous Disc reissue by contributing his formidable mixing skills in its creation. His passion, enthusiasm, dedication, and relentless work ethic through this process never wavered, and the constant pursuit of excellence he'd maintained throughout his professional life, along with his bravery even in the face of his pain, suffering, and the knowledge that he might be near the end, will remain a testimony to me of inexpressible profoundness.
I am swamped with memories. We had laughed and cried together, and together we had trusted in the One who would one day gather us in his arms and wipe away every tear from our eyes. Doug just happened to get there first. I truly believe we will make music again together, but until then I will sorely miss my friend. Goodbye Doug, and when you see our old pal Dave Perry, please give him a big hug for me."

Terry: "In my grief over my Mom's passing I wrote this song a few days later. In it I imagine what she might be saying to me even now. There are fragmentary glimpses here into our family's history; my Mother's pregnancy at the age of 17, the early years of my parents' financial and personal struggles born of their youth and inexperience married to a brave desire to 'do the right thing.' I vividly recall those boyhood summers when twilight would fall and my mother's faraway voice would call my brother and me home from a day spent playing in the streets of our neighborhood. How comforting that voice was, suffused with the grace of love and home, and it remained an anchor throughout our family's most turbulent times. I will deeply miss that voice. And God knows I will miss her laugh. All those who knew her and have written to me since her passing have mentioned my Mother's laugh and despite her suffering with the horror that is Alzheimers, she never stopped being funny or perceptive to another's humor. To the day she died her explosive, room-filling laughter continued to bring joy to all of us. And because love is stronger than death, I believe I will see her again and that the laughter and joy we share on that day of reunion will last far beyond ten thousand years."

- DA's bassist since Doppelganger Tim Chandler dies. Tim's health had been declining over the last few years and he died of natural causes.
Terry: "My dear friend Tim Chandler is no longer in this world. It doesn't seem possible. My mind hasn't fully grasped this yet, but nevertheless, I feel soul-weary, beat up, dazed, out of breath. Tim was not just a friend, he was my champion, a passionate cheerleader who gave me the courage to venture beyond my supposed creative limitations and in so doing, lose my self-conscious restraints and give in to a kind of wild abandonment. To me, he will always be the heart and soul of Daniel Amos. A friend summed it up this way: 'Tim always had your back.' This was true both artistically and personally. When Tim would call me (or vice-versa) he always had a story to tell, usually concerning his personal encounters with the absurdities of life, and I would often return the favor. Together we would invariably wind up breathless with tear-inducing laughter, and at the end of every one of these conversations we would say goodbye with 'I love you brother.' Tim, like us all, had his demons but I will always remember him, above all else, for his humor, his tender-hearted kindness, his unwavering devotion to me as a friend, and his artistic skill and creative passion. He was truly God's gift of grace to me."

- The Gospel Music Association announces the death of Tim Chandler.
"Tim Chandler, a song writer and bass guitar player, best known for his work with The Choir and Daniel Amos died on October 8, 2018 at 58 years old.
In 1985 Chandler joined The Choir. He's present on their 1986 EP Shades of Grey and their subsequent 1986 album Diamonds and Rain, but he really began to leave his unique musical imprint with 1988's Chase the Kangaroo. He then took two albums off but came back with 1993's Kissers and Killers, and has been with the band since then. His last recording occurred earlier in 2018 on The Choir's album, Bloodshot.
Chandler joined Daniel Amos, a foundational Christian rock band, in 1983. His first album with them was Doppelganger, a masterpiece of jagged '80s new wave that showcased his signature aggressive and melodic bass playing. He remained with DA ever since, playing on numerous albums.
Tim also played with many other acclaimed artists, both in the studio and on tour, such as Phil Keaggy, Randy Stonehill, Chuck Girard, Tom Howard, Tonio K., and Pierce Pettis. Tim is survived by his children, Max and Charlotte Chandler and brother Dan Chandler. A private memorial service for family and friends will take place Nov 17th in Nashville, TN.
